About the Trout de Mayo Tournament
Two Divisions of Competition
Trout de Mayo encourages anglers of all types to participate, and will feature prizes for two divisions in addition to grand tournament prizes:
- Kayak
- Powered (one vessel per team)
Each team (up to five anglers per team) can submit a 3-fish stringer of speckled trout for judging and to win awards and prizes!
Teams of Anglers
Each team of anglers works together to build the best 3-fish stringer of speckled trout.
Kayak fisherman may build a team of up to five kayak fisherman to team together.
Anglers in the powered division must all fish from the same vessel. One team, one vessel.
Each team, powered and kayak, may have up to five total anglers.

Custom printed tournament shirts
Anglers registered prior to April 24th will receive a custom printed tournament shirt!
Shirts are not guaranteed for anglers registering after April 24th.
Three categories of competition
Prizes and awards will be awarded for the following categories:
- Largest trout
- Largest 3-fish stringer
- A special mystery category to be announced the morning of the tournament!
Prizes and Awards
Prizes will be awarded to:
- Grand Prize - Largest Fish
- Grand Prize - Largest 3-fish stringer
- Kayak - Largest 3-fish stringer
- Powered - Largest 3-fish stringer
- A special mystery category!
The 3-fish stringer containing a largest fish winner will not be considered for largest 3-fish stringer.
Winners of the Grand Prize will not be considered for their division.
