About the Trout de Mayo Tournament
Two Divisions of Competition
Trout de Mayo encourages anglers of all types to participate, and will feature prizes for two divisions in addition to grand tournament prizes:
- Kayak
- Powered
Each team (up to five anglers per team) can submit a 3-fish bag of speckled trout for judging and to win awards and prizes!
Teams of Anglers
Each powered vessel will be a team of anglers working together to build the best 3-fish bag of speckled trout.
Kayak fisherman may build a team of up to five kayak fisherman to team together.
Each team, powered and kayak, may have up to five total anglers.
Three categories of competition
Within each division prizes and awards will be awarded for the following categories:
- Largest trout
- Largest 3-fish bag
- A special mystery category to be announced the morning of the tournament!
Prizes and Awards
Prizes will be awarded to:
- Grand Prize - Largest Fish
- Grand Prize - Largest 3-fish bag
- Kayak - Largest Fish
- Kayak - Largest 3-fish bag
- Powered - Largest Fish
- Powered - Largest 3-fish bag
- A special mystery category!
The 3-fish bag containing a largest fish winner will not be considered for largest 3-fish bag.
Winners of the Grand Prize will not be considered for their division.
